Such high hopes but...

I bought this boot with high expectations. I generally put footwear through its paces in some of the most rugged terrain on Earth. I was un-impressed when I opened the box. It seemed as if the left boot leather was construced inside out. This boot is wearing very quickly, and I'm worried I'll see my toes early in 2007. Also, the Vibram sole is already starting to seperate from the boot. The soles themselves seem to be wearing down very quicky, and they are way too hard to be quiet.
On the positive side - they are comfortable. And they dry relatively quickly (I spend much of my day mucking through swamps).
Overall I am dissapointed in this American made boot. I had such high hopes - especially for the relatively high price for a combat boot.

Very comfortable boots

This is the most comfortable pair of boots I worn. More comfortable than the Bellevilles we were issued prior to deploying. Wear this with nylon/polyster socks, not cotton. Shock absorption is great. Jumping off the back of hummer is easier.

Awesome Boot, but not IAW Army Reg

Awesome looking boot - the darker leather hides the scuff marks so nortorious with other lighter tan leathers. The quality is without peer. However, the darker leather -Olive Mojave- is the USMC standard. Army Reg (supplement to AR 670-1), as put out by the Army G1, states that Army boots must be tan with a tan rubber sole. My SGM stated that I'd be stretching the tan standard with this boot. Rats! Lastly, the pair bought (and thus returned) had a slightly green rubber sole and canvas. My SGM said No way. Too bad.
