    I actually wear Under Armour under body armor. It does seem to be better with moisture than cotton,but I don't think anthing will keep you dry under a vest in the south. Primary advantage is that the smooth fabric allows the vest to slide smoothly, eliminating bunching. Two warnings: 1)velcro will eat a hole through it in one shift if the velcro hooks come in contact.2)order one size larger than normal shirt.

    not really!

    I use a white one under my off road bike protections in the heat. Not as wicking as Nike or Silvermax. The fabric is pretty thick and I always get a sliding layer of sweat underneath, while the Nike dryfit sticks to my skin and sucks it dry. The Nike is also thiner and more ventilated but does not hold your muscles tight like this one. And that's very appreciable for the shoulders after hundreds of miles off road. Also not for combat. It would melt on your skin if reached by ignition source. A cotton mesh tank treated with Nickwax is the best I know.
