Heavy Haulin' Big Price Tag
This is one heavy pack. The whole thing clocks in at 10-11 pounds. What do you get though? You get an much-needed update on an old friend for many people. The main pouch comes ready for a radio and inner compartments for better organization: Very long overdue. The shoulder and waist straps are an upgrade that is comparable to the Atlas and the TT ones. There is strapping everywhere which leads to the overall weight of the bag. The outside pouches are nice, different from the large ALICE ones. They are more reinforced and have a rubber lining to them which may turn some people off. As for me, I am indifferent to it.
I have two complains about this: Instead of the pouch on the very bottom, they should have removed it entirely to allow for more attachments for a sleep carrier or add it to the thing. The second is the frame. Maybe they improved upon the weight of the frame but it just doesn't seem up to par of the surplus ALICE frame.
All in all, if you can get over the price tag it is a great bag that will last you a long time.
