Sized for use as a Go-Bag, day trips, office commutes, or as a smaller carry-on, the 5.11 Tactical RUSH 12 Backpack is loaded with most of the same features as its larger teammates for maximum utility. Designed by special operations combat veteran, Kyle Lamb of VTACTM, the RUSH 12& was created because of end-user input. Its large main compartment has a pocket that will fit most sleeved laptops and the bungeed cinch top will keep any load in place. Two mesh pockets on the inside of the main flap hold computer accessories, electronics, binos, and other smaller items you want readily accessible. The 12.00" x 9.00" x 1.00" Admin compartment on the front of the pack opens wide and has slots and pockets to organize pens, business cards, camera, GPS, and much more, plus two key keepers and a large internal zippered pocket.

Web platform on the outside of the compartment allows you to add 5.11's SlickStick pouches for even more gear capacity and the 2.00" x 3.00" VELCRO patch is great for flag or unit patches. The 5.00" x 8.00" zippered pocket above the Admin compartment is a handy spot for radio, phone, travel documents, energy bars, and smaller gear and is also covered with web platform and a VELCRO patch for your nametape. Two compression straps keep everything snugged closer to your body for comfortable load management. There is also a zippered fleece-lined eyewear pocket on top, just behind the heavy-duty grab handle. Dual concealed hydration tube ports are located to the sides of the handle.

Both sides feature top-to-bottom web platform, allowing you to attach a host of different 5.11's SlickStick accessories. The back panel conceals a reinforced hydration pocket that will accommodate bladders up to 60 oz. The extra padding on the back panel promotes ventilation and the anti-skid pads help keep the RUSH 12 in place. Tri-glide fasteners have been added at the bottom corners in case you want to add a waist belt. The padded contoured shoulder straps have four rows of web platform and the sternum strap can be adjusted to four heights. Excess webbing can be gathered at the bottom of the straps with elastic keepers. Two 3/8" grommets in the bottom panel let the RUSH 12 breathe and allow water and debris to escape. Four attachment points for 1" webbing have been added to the bottom.

Best backpack I've owned.
I started biking to work and needed a new backpack. I had my eye on the 5.11 packs for camping/hiking and gave this one a shot. I liked it right away but wanted to use it for a few months before leaving a review. I've been continually impressed by how well-constructed this pack is. I use the MOLLE system every day for a flashlight, multitool, water bottle, and a slim first aid kit. I keep finding new uses for for it, I'm really loving the modular capabilities.

Best daypack I have used... Period.
After eight years in the Marines, I know what a good pack feels like, and behaves like, and the Rush 12 is a great pack. this is my new got to bag. Right now, I use it for school, carrying around my text books, notebooks, and other associated school type stuff to include lunch. It also works great as a manly diaper bag and hiking pack. Now, enough of the civilian college kid stuff. I wish i had had this bag when I was still in the Marines. this bag is much better than the issue ILBE day pack, and better than the Blackhawk patrol pack I had when I was in (and to be fair, I love that bag too- just not as much as the Rush 12). this bag could easily carry everything any soldier or Marine would need on a day long patrol comfortably. I could see putting a radio in this bag, with chow, extra ammo, warming layers, demo, hydration bladder, basic survival kit- you name it. It even has some attachment points at the bottom that can take straps so you could attach a ranger roll to the bottom, along with a Goretex top and bottoms (for all you guys scared of getting a little wet). The MOLLE straps are only three wide on the sides- making it hard to attach a SAW pouch to the outside, but they would work great for MOLLE canteen pouches. I got the sandstone color, and it is very close to coyote- close enough that the coyote pouches I have attached to it have not stood out. Another nice feature of this pack is that it is comfortable to run with (I first tested t on a two mile run out in the country, and have since ran with it at the local state park- never a problem of any kind). I paid over $250 for my Blackhawk bag, and it was really good to me- this bag is better in my opinion- and cheaper. It is worth the money if you are looking for a good daypack, book bag, get home bag, assault pack, or just a good travel bag. Look no further- this bag is it.
